Current Event

A family was found mysteriously dead in Utah home. The mother, father, two sons and daughter were found by another son. There were no signs of trauma or violence. The house was searched for any traces of deadly gas but nothing was found. The reason of this families shocking death is still unknown.

In my opinion Dr.Seuss’ quote is trying to say that everything you do was your OWN decision. All the wrong, all the right choices were made by only yourself. 

Trauma Nurse

Duties and Responsibilities: responding quickly to a wide variety of single- and multisystem trauma

Salary: ranges from $80,000 to $128,000

Education: RN with AD, Diploma, or BSN

Reflection: I would not like to be a trauma nurse. Although I’m usually good under pressure I don’t think I can handle the pressure of helping to save someone’s life.

Biomedical Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities: design and develop medical devices such as artificial hearts and kidneys, pacemakers, artificial hips, surgical lasers, automated patient monitors and blood chemistry sensors

Salary: $143,000 annually

Education: 4 year post-secondary education/training  

I think I would like to study biomedical engineering because something you make or design can help someone in need. You can make a prosthetic leg and give them ability to walk and do things they never thought they could.

I don’t agree with this quote. In my opinion the central to happiness is being humble. Staying humble will show you what truly makes you happy

Salary:  approximately $92,000 annually 

Education: no formal education is usually required

I would love to be radio broadcaster. Most jobs in entertainment interest me.

Reggie Bush

Reggie Bush disappointed many people when they heard the news of his Heisman Trophy being disassociated from him because of accepting cash and benefits. He lost many things because of this USC’s wins were no longer valid, they removed his jersey from a display case and he also wasn't eligable to play.

In my opinion the quote can be related to someones work habits. For example, an obedient person will do their job or assignments/duties well because they are doing just as told.

Autogenic Training

Duties and Responsibilities: To achieve deep relaxation and reduce stress.

Salary: $35,000-$142,000

Education: A medical field in autogenic training.

Autogenic Training seems interesting for me to practice but not as an actual career.

Duties and Responsibilities: Provide treatment for symptoms and disorders using needles and small electrical currents. May provide massage treatment.

Education: Master's Degree or First Professional Degree

Anything that has to do with needles is a no for me. I don’t like needles in myself so I wouldn't be able to put them into someone else.

911 Memorial

On September 11, 2001 four planes were hijacked by a group associated with the al-Qaeda. One plane crashed on a field in Pennsylvania, another crashed into the Pentagon just outside Washington DC. The last two planes crashed into the World Trade Center in Manhattan, New York. Over 3,000 people were killed on 911 including police and firefighters. 13 years later people from around the country give their prayers and respect to the all the innocent people who died on this tragic day. I first heard of the attacks of 911 in the second grade when they showed us two pictures of New York City one before the disaster and one after. They asked us what we seen different in the pictures and then followed up explaining what happened on September 11, 2001.

Obedience, is a form of "social influence in which a person yields to explicit instructions or orders from an authority figure".

To be obedient is:

·       listening to your mother the FIRST time she tells you to throw out the trash.

·       A dog listening to its owner

·       A team following directions given by the coach

Audiologist

Duties and Responsibilities: Audiologists diagnose and treat a patient’s hearing and balance problems using advanced technology and procedures.

Education: Doctoral or professional degree

I would not like to be an audiologist because it not an interest of mine. In my opinion it’s a boring career choice.

This quote means that you can be the greatest basketball player ever but it still won’t mean anything outside from the court. It wouldn't be important to the type of person you really are, you will only be able to play basketball for a certain amount of time after that you have nothing.

Duties and Responsibilities: Athletic trainers specialize in preventing, diagnosing, and treating muscle and bone injuries and illnesses.

Education: Certification of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification

I actually wouldn’t mind becoming an athletic trainer. The fact that it’s not a job sitting in an office makes it seem interesting.

Anesthesiologist

Duties and Responsibilities: Administer and manage the anesthesia given during surgeries.

Education: 12 years of post-secondary education

Reflection: I would not like to be an anesthesiologist because of all the years of school don’t seem worth it to me. I have no interest in a medical career. 

Ambulance Dispatcher

Duties and Responsibilities: Gathers information related to medical emergencies, provides assistance and instructions by voice prior to EMS

Salary: $21,593 - $51,168 annually

Education: needs to be certified through the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials-International, the National Academies of Emergency Dispatch, and Power Phone Inc. 

I would not be able to have the job of an Ambulance Dispatcher because i wouldnt help the person i would be more scared than them and eventually make the situation worse.
