Memorial Day
Memorial Day is a day in which we
remember those who have died in the service of the United States of America. It
is celebrated on the 25th of May. It was originated during the Civil War
and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Some ways we can show honor and
respect on Memorial Day is by saying thank you to all the people in the armed
forces and being thankful to them and their families. Most people
celebrate this holiday by going to parades, going to the people’s grave who
risked their lives for us, and by having barbecues with the family. Something
my family and I do on Memorial Day is give thanks to families who have a loved
one at war and give our condolences for those who lost a love one because of
war.
