“Our very business in life is not to get ahead of others…but to get ahead of ourselves.”
Thomas S. Monson

My interpretation of this quote is that we should strive to be a better person every day. Better than ourselves not than others.

“Real wealth is not so much what we have as what we are.”
Sterling W. Sill

In my opinion Sterling is referring to people not needing money or expensive possessions to be happy. A wealthy person is someone who can find happiness in themselves.

First Week at HPIAM

My first week at HPIAM has been going well. My new classes are pretty cool like psychology. Solis is a good teacher, just on the first day I learned so much. He turns a simple subject into an endless controversial conversation and that’s great! It makes the class even more interesting.
I also enjoy my English class, the teacher is Mr.Almaya. He’s funny so I know the assignments aren't going to be plain and boring. I enjoy writing so it’s good to know he isn't a boring teacher that gets every writing prompt out of the textbooks. He will actually have us write about something he'll enjoy reading while grading.

For world history Mr. Martinez is my teacher and I'm happy about that because I learned a lot from him last year in geography. One thing I'm disappointed about is that I have P.E for third period. I don't like that because that means I'm less likely to go into the pool. All my other classes are good too. Overall my week was simple and easy.

“Education is the latchkey to success in life”

Gordon B. Hinckley

This quote seems as if it’s only interpreted correctly by half of society. There are so many successful uneducated people. They are making money from more uneducated people buying their music or other products. While, there is hard working people trying to gain a stronger education and yet moving nowhere in life. In my opinion education has little to no value in this society.
Ophthalmologist
Duties and Responsibilities Ophthalmologist are physicians who specialize in the treatment of eye disorders and diseases. They treat vision problems and write prescriptions for both pharmaceuticals and corrective eyeglass lenses, when necessary, they perform eye surgery. Most ophthalmologist are in private practice, however some are employed by hospitals or clinics, and others perform research.
Average Salary: $90,000 - $150,000
Educational Requirements:
Only physicians may study to become ophthalmologist. After completing medical school and as internship, an ophthalmologist must then complete a three to five year residency in an approved ophthalmology program. After completing their residency program the must pass an examination to be certified.

Reflection: I would not want to be an ophthalmologist because it doesn't seem like the right job for me. I would like to travel frequently so I wouldn't be able to keep a five year residency.
