Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated in The United States and Canada. It is a day to give thanks for the harvest and blessings. It is celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November in the United States of America. In 1621, it was the year there first harvest proved successful, Pilgrims and Wampanoag Indians gathered around to enjoy the first Thanksgiving. For about two centuries, only the colonies celebrated Thanksgiving until Abraham Lincoln proclaimed Thanksgiving to be held every November. Thanksgiving lasted about 3 days straight eating all that they had harvested. Because they didn’t have ovens or sugar their meals did not consist of pies, cakes, or other desserts.

Kindness

There were two big acts of kindness shown at the basketball game. The first being that the coach let Mitchell play during a real game no matter what the consequences. The second was when the player from the opposite team purposely gave Mitchell the ball so he could make the shot and have his experience be more special.

“Kindness is the essence of greatness.”
Joseph B. Wirthlin

This quote is true because kindness shows a bit of the person you truly are. For example in the picture above its obvious its cold out so the man brings this homeless person a warm drink. He didn’t have to but he did because he is a great person.

“If it’s not right do not do it; if it’s not true do not say it.”
Marcus Aurelius

An example of this quote could be when you hear rumors and you know obviously they aren’t true, you shouldn’t tell more people you should just keep out of it. That will be the right thing to do.

Surrounding yourself with wise, smart, successful people will motivate you to be the same and do good. But if you surround yourself with people with bad habits they might drag you down with them.
